Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral therapy is a new term for one of the most ancient healing practices of our species. Many cultures practice something similar to this gentle, hands-on healing modality. Craniosacral comes from the traditions of the Shawnee & Cherokee peoples, assimilated & appropriated into Osteopathic Medicine. I studied through Body Intelligence under the teachers Clara Cunningham, Hiraman Reynolds & Ryan Hallford.

This work is hands-on, very gentle touch work provided in a private and peaceful healing space. We work one-on-one, and before session, clients share their goals and perhaps their aches, pains and traumas. During session, the body speaks in a variety of ways, opening up into what we call the body’s own ‘Inherent Treatment Plan'.’ This work can tap into all the different layers of our physiology—our tissues, our fluids, our cellular matrix—to unwind and open up to our state of original health.

We all know that bodies are the ones who heal themselves, our immune system can be spurred into action, our body can be fueled by food, medicine, etc that allow it to do its inherent and innate job even better. Craniosacral taps into that phenomenon as well as the one that shows healing happens in attuned, safe containers with other regulated nervous systems.

This is a powerful tool for individuals who may be too sensitive or uncomfortable with other forms of touch therapy. This work can be deeply beneficial for most physiological and nervous system ailments although can be particularly powerful for acute physiological trauma like TBI & post-surgery.

Sessions are offered at my office near downtown Tucson AZ. During the month of April, May & June, new clients first session is $50. My sliding scale for sessions is $80-$135.

Organic Intelligence

Organic Intelligence is a modality of Somatic Psychology founded by my teacher Steven Hoskinson. I also studied under Robin Craig & Moni Kuhel. Their work has profoundly shaped not only my practice with clients but also my worldview and my understanding of bodies, physiologies and mental health.

This paradigm centers a biological understanding of how we hold and show our stories, our traumas and how to move forward with healing. This somatic approach centers the bodies innate healing capacity as the guide, while I offer practices and interventions for helping our nervous systems shift old pathways into new more resourceful ones. This is a non-pathologizing, and I believe radical approach to mental health healing and nervous system regulation.

This work begs us to ask ‘what if nothing is wrong with you? what if your body is reacting and responding brilliantly to all the stimuli, trauma and impact it has been subject to since conception? what if your trauma is in fact your greatest un-metabolized resource for healing?’ Finding ways to get free from the burden of unintegrated trauma, shame & dysregulation is the work we do together.

Clients are welcome to bring any content and we work right where you are. We may center and reflect on body sensations, images, orientation to the environment and felt sense as we work.

OI sessions in many ways look like traditional trauma talk therapy sessions, we meet for 50 minute sessions via Zoom or in person at my office near Downtown Tucson. My full fee is $135/session and I offer sliding scale for those who need it.
